Artist BIO

D.S. Wilson is a Top 25 Smooth/Contemporary Jazz multi-instrumentalist based in Seattle, Washington.

A prolific recording artist and performer, he has released four solo albums, with a fifth currently in production, and performs 40–50 shows annually across the U.S. His festival appearances include the Chicago O’Hare Jazz Festival (twice), Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival, Marcus Anderson’s MAJACE Festival, and the Milwaukee Fresh Coast Jazz Festival.

Wilson gained national traction with his early releases Stella Rose (2019) and Saxuality (2021). His 2023 album Skyline, co-produced with Adam Hawley and featuring notable collaborators including Mel Brown and Carnell Harrell, reached #22 on the SmoothJazz.com Top 100 Albums chart and received airplay on SiriusXM Watercolors with Dave Koz.

Building on that success, Wilson released Metamorphosis (2025), produced with Jeff Carruthers and Steve Oliver, earning consistent placement on the RadioWave, SmoothJazzNetwork, and SmoothJazz.com Top 100 charts. The album generated six charting singles and finished #26 on the SmoothJazz.com Year-End Top 100 Albums chart, with continued SiriusXM support.

In 2026, Wilson’s upcoming fifth album—again produced with Carruthers—has already delivered two #1 singles on the SmoothJazz.com Top 100 Streaming Chart, alongside Top 100 radio placements across major jazz charts including Billboard Top 100.

Originally rooted in jazz, Wilson’s diverse musical background spans rock, pop, and blues, with hundreds of live performances dating back to the 1980s. His early career highlights include winning the North Carolina Battle of the Bands, earning a scholarship to Berklee College of Music, and collaborating with Grammy-nominated producer John Custer before returning to his jazz roots as a solo artist.
